A planning application for the first phase of the Aberdeen International Business Park, off Dyce Drive, has been approved.

Planning permission in principle for a business park and associated infrastructure works was granted under delegated powers in November.

The development concept for phase one is to provide a high quality office campus set in an attractive park environment, which will be occupied by Aker Solutions.

It will include a building with floor space of 32,249 square metres, which will be broken down to 27,250sq metres of office space, 2,347 metres of leisure space, including dining and leisure space, a cr?che, fitness facilities and a small shop.

The Development Management Sub-Committee today approved a number of conditions relating to the proposed development.

Convener Councillor Ramsay Milne said: "I am very pleased that Aker has chosen to further invest in Aberdeen. I am sure that having splendid new corporate headquarters will allow the company to continue to deliver services from Aberdeen to the North Sea and the world.

"This development and investment in the city is a clear sign of the continuing strength of Aberdeen's economy and the level of faith and confidence the private sector has in the city. Aberdeen remains well and truly open for business."
