Take two pictures of a housekey with your smartphone, email them to Shloosl, and receive a physical copy of that key a couple of days later. And it works. Seriously.
I have a tough door. When I moved in, I tried for months to get copies of my key at home depot and even a locksmith and neither managed to make a key that actually worked. Finally I had to call management and request they send someone to make and test keys because I'd spent $20 on bad ones. When I saw Shloosl, I thought that maybe it worked on some doors but never on mine. I took a couple of pictures, watched Shloosl's robot analyze my key (a fun feature of the process), and paid $5 for a copy (shipping included). A couple of days later I received my key. It works better than the original. I still can't believe it.
To recap: you take two pictures of a key, send it to Shloosl, and you receive a functioning key in the mail shortly afterwards. You can even reorder easily with a few clicks, or mail a copy to someone. It actually works. While a bit more expensive than visiting your local hardware store, Shloosl is a heck of a lot easier, cooler, and better all-around.
