THIS IS WHERE YOUR POSTS WILL GO!~ HIT THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON ABOVE TO GET UPDATES. :)

Before you enter into the realm of Good Evening, lemme tell you how we play 'round these here parts, for clarity's sake. If you're advanced enough for me to accept you, then... hahaha, some of this might be a kind of review:

+Remember, you've never met Abe. You don't know what he is, what he looks like, only his voice. Doing research into his name yields you nothing, and asking vampires who should know would only yield an uneasy frown and a shaking of the head. Abe doesn't get away with so much by having a public identity, sirs. (Yonbi, I'll discuss this part with you later. xD)

+Your character will be required to fly from their house (wherever that is) to Ohio, USA shortly before the roleplay begins. Some people might start their first post in an airport, for example. One or two might be from the area and drive in. Or if you have a witch who knows levitation....
If your OC has little means of getting around, Abe will arrange a ride for you if he musts. Likely a helicopter.

+There will be a bit of prepping time before every mission, to purchase weaponry, get some food, etc. This does not need to be detailed, it's just a chance to update your inventory. I'll open up a vote--you guys wanna prep on your own in each your introductions then head to the meeting place, or head out to the meeting place, THEN get prepping time, THEN start the mission?

+Posting rate! Verra important. After you post once, you don't get to post again till twelve hours after that to avoid clutter. Then it's free game. If you're absent from the roleplay for a long period of time and it's been moving along without you, come up with something your character's been doing in all that time and write about it. You are NOT allowed to respond as if you were never gone.
(Sorry guys, I just want this thing to keep moving, Wudge skayered of stand-stills).

+The way actual missions are going to work is how I imagine GMs would play D&D without those damned numbers... though I've never played D&D--NO DON'T LOSE HOPE IN ME YET--!
For the most part, I will stick with NPCs, brief scenes and scenario descriptions, enemies, etc. Many times in writing about these, I'll do two things:

  • Describe the thing in question.
  • Announce that the thing in question is present and available for interaction.
That's it. That's the majority of what I'll be posting. Ebenezer eventually will join you once in a while and change things up, but we'll get to that when we get to that.
And on NPCs, this is both sort of a reassurance and a self-note: They will have names, they will have personalities, they will be memorable. This applies to major enemies, too, who are just like NPCs, but have a more frequent tendency of being killed by you.

+NPCs whose names are in Green are neutral and probably work for Abe, too, so please don't kill them.
+Enemies might have names, but so long as they have no color attached to them, they are minor enemies and free kills; you can kill them as quickly as you want without concern, because they won't spend a particularly long time trying to talk to you (though there may be exceptions).
+NPCs whose names are in Red are needed DEAD in order to complete the mission's objective. Do your best to take your time. You can try to talk to them, because they will have more to say than regular enemies, but ultimately you cannot go home and do your laundry until you've killed them.
+On that note, everything from Ebenezer will be in blue.

+Don't be afraid to ask the NPCs (red, green, blue) questions. They might answer you quickly and poorly, or not at all, before shoving you along... but conversation is still always nice. And you might find out some dandy information.

+Perhaps most importantly: Always try to have a strategy! Anything can attack you at any moment; do your best to describe your surroundings and place in objects you might need on the fly prior to finding out you're under attack. Though I might place in objects in a room, too, nothing says you can't add in your own.
But don't be lame about it. Say, you wanna use a crate of oranges. Don't write it in a way that--for example: "Bob noticed a crate of oranges in the corner. He took note of it, figuring he could bash it over a vampire's head if he needed to."
And then, after a post announcing that you are, indeed, under attack: "Bob bashed the crate of oranges over a vampire's head!!"
No. No matter how much more eloquently you write it, that's buzzkill. Your character does not need to plan everything out before doing it, and even if they do, you don't need to write about it--you keep track of the plans. Keep a notebook or open a notepad file. Just plain "Bob noticed a crate of oranges in the corner." followed by a "Bob bashed the crate of oranges over a vampire's head!!" would have sufficed much more nicely.
We like leetle tweests, both providing them and being surprised by them. Suspense, friends!
Also, keep in mind that the crate of oranges probably can't follow you to other settings, so if an attack never happened in Room 1, you don't get to suddenly use the oranges in Room 5. Plans can fall through before they are even enacted. This should be a "well derrrr," but just in case.

+Why do I allow you to put in your own objects and make some of your own descriptions to fill my blanks? I want us to build this world together, baby. <3 But never override any of my previous descriptions, or anyone else's for that matter. Do your best to acknowledge things other people write within your post.
If Joseph writes that the kitchen is to the right of the living room, don't have Jane run to the right and be in a bedroom. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE WRITTEN! Keep a notepad file called "Good Evening" and take little notes, if necessary.
And be realistic. Don't put a conveniently placed revolver on a table in a sushi restaurant. Nabbing the chef's kitchen knife though? A-okay!

To be updated after the first mission. <3
