Position Summary
The Assistant Community Manager is responsible for lease application paperwork and providing administrative support to the Community Manager. The position reports to the Community Manager.

Position Reports To: Community Manager

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring lease applications and completing lease renewal packages
  • Assists the resident relations specialist with organizing resident functions and classes
  • Conducts new resident orientation
  • Provides information for the monthly village or neighborhood newsletter
  • Provides administrative support to the community manager
  • Assists in legal proceedings
  • Assists with Risk Management issues
  • Maintains payroll files and all related documentation
  • Monitors files and wait lists to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conducts themselves and property business according to State and federal laws and regulations.
  • Accepts rent payments and resident service requests.
  • Assists with the required weekly and monthly property reports.
  • Assists in resolving resident complaints and answers resident questions.
  • Assists with monitoring curb appeal, office and model appearance and signage.
  • Assists with maintenance of the appearance of the office, amenity area, models and common areas of the property.
  • Maintains or exceeds the standards for property business as set forth in company policy and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and to meet the needs of residents and the property.

    Education and/or Experience.

  • Must have high-school degree; college degree preferred.
  • Experience in multifamily housing property management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

    Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Must possess a basic knowledge of fair housing laws and regulations.
  • Must have superior customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels and management and personnel.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to focus with occasional interruption. The position requires the ability to perform light typing duties.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs in order to develop and/or complete required reports, manage communication, and create and edit impactful presentations, proposals, and other collateral materials.
  • Knowledge of office administration procedures.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.

    Required Licenses

  • Valid drivers license if required to operate a licensed motor vehicle in order to perform the job duties.
    Other Requirements
  • Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed dress code policy.
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; flexible work schedule including nights and weekends may be required.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    Physical Demands

    The ability to collect and comprehend data in order to problem-solve variables in standardized situations. The ability to concentrate on work of moderate detail with some interruption and office background noise.

    Work Environment
