Growing St. Joseph-affiliated Annadel Medical Group adds 13 doctors

SANTA ROSA ? St. Joseph Health affiliated-Annadel Medical Group announced today that it is starting two specialty practices while adding 13 new physicians to the group, bringing the total number of providers to 60 across Sonoma County.

The new specialty practices will include gastroenterology, which focuses on the digestive system, and OB/GYN, both important specialties that will enable Annadel physicians to provide more comprehensive care, the medical group said.

The expansion represents the largest influx to date for the growing practice, which started in 2008 with a handful of physicians but has grown to 50 doctors and 10 nurse practitioners over the last couple of years.

The new gastroenterology specialty practices will be run by:

Joshua P. Beirne, MD,? a board-certified gastroenterologist who maintained a private practice in Santa Rosa for the past several years. He served as a teaching fellow in the division of gastroenterology at the Brown University Alpert School of Medicine, Rhode Island Hospital, where he also completed his fellowship. He received his doctor of medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

A. Michael Lustberg, MD, AGAF, a board-certified gastroenterologist, who served the Santa Rosa community for many years in a well-respected private group practice. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and received his doctor of medicine from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in the British West Indies. ?He has been honored among ?Top Docs? in patient satisfaction at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The OB/GYN practice, which previously was financed by the Petaluma Health Care District, will be run by:

Julie D. Clark, MD, FACOG, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with seven years of private practice experience, most recently at Petaluma Women?s Health in Petaluma, where she served as the managing physician since 2008. Dr. Clark received her doctor of medicine from Cornell University and completed her residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. ?She has twice been honored among ?Top Docs? in patient satisfaction at Petaluma Valley Hospital.

Anthony P. Kosinki, MD, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than eight years experience in a private practice, also at Petaluma Women?s Health.? He received his doctor of medicine from the University of Illinois ? Chicago, and spent five years as the clinical instructor for OB/GYN residents and medical students from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Kosinski serves as vice president of the medical staff at Petaluma Valley Hospital, and also has been honored among ?Top Docs? at Petaluma Valley.
