The autumn and winter racing season has begun at Mijas Racecourse; Hipodromo Costa del Sol. ?Every other Saturday until the 6th of December there will be five races with the best horses and not only that, but one can also enjoy a wide variety of other leisure activities and great gastronomic offers.

Horse Racing at the Hipodromo Costa del Sol

Right in the heart of Costa del Sol in the Urbanization ?El Chaparral? on Mijas Costa one can enjoy wonderful views over the sea and the mountains while watching one of the oldest sports, Horse Racing. The PSI (Pure English Breed) horses capable of achieving speeds up to 60 km per hour will race along one of the two sandy racecourses that are 1,700 and 1,600 meters long. ?

The Autumn, Winter schedule is the following:

October: Saturday the 1st and the 22nd

November: Saturday the 5th and the 19th

December: Tuesday the 6th

Taking the whole family to the horserace?s will prove a success, especially with the children as the grounds also offer bouncy castles, pony rides, water balls, handicrafts, and merry-go-rounds. And if you get hungry, not to worry, there is a wide selection of restaurants serving Italian food, Spanish food, hot-dogs, smaller snacks and even an American Diner. If you are heading to the races with a group of friends that you can also enjoy the Mojito bar, the British Beer Celebration or the high chill-out terrace with spectacular views, funky music ?and cocktails.

Make sure you do not miss the Flamenco dance performance ?Arte y Corazon? that takes place after each race; there is nothing better than a bit of Flamenco reminding you of where you are!

If you have rented a holiday home along the Costa del Sol then the horserace?s this autumn would be a great option for something out of the ordinary on a Saturday. ?

The gates open at 10:30 in the morning and the races take place at 12:00 am. The price is 5 ? per person and offers free parking. For those under 18 years or over 65 years, entrance is free.
