Chrysler to add 50 jobs at Toledo Jeep plant

Chrysler Group LLC plans to add workers to both shifts at its Toledo assembly plant as it looks to boost production of the Jeep Wrangler.

Chrysler Group LLC plans to hire 50 workers at its Toledo assembly plant as it looks to boost its 30-day supply of Jeep Wranglers by about 100 vehicles a day, the Toledo Blade reports.

Union officials told the newspaper that new workers would be split into groups of 25 on each of the plant's two shifts. The Toledo plant is the sole assembly location for the Jeep Wrangler.

Adding a third shift at the plant is still a possibility, though union officials told the newspaper that it is unlikely and would add only "marginal improvements" to its production capacity.
