When you think of Christmas in Kansas what do you picture? I imagine this is where all those wholesome things still take place: cookie exchanges, elaborate home decorating, caroling. Turns out I?m right, but I didn?t imagine one woman?among?the carolers thinking, ?I?m freezing my ass off on your porch bringing you fucking holiday cheer, the least you could do is offer me a nip of something.? This woman I failed to imagine is Jen of People I Want to Punch in the Throat fame.

This book had me?stifling?giggles in pediatrician waiting rooms, karate class waiting rooms, and gymnastics class waiting rooms. Those waits were all over far too quickly. It?s impossible to read about Jen?s white trash dollhouse or gross mall Santa without laughing. The book is the voice of every awkward family Christmas photo.
