Today is the second day of parent-teacher conferences in Knoxville. Northstar Elementary Principal John Keitges says that conferences can be very important to show your child your interest and involvement in both academics and attitudes toward school. Keitges notes that 15 minutes is not a very long time, so it?s important to follow-up with teachers and any issues you have or questions you discussed. He says email is the easiest way to do so, but many teachers also willing to give their phone number. Your child will notice a developing teacher-parent relationship, he says, which can make all the difference in helping them improve in school.
