Swords Star to shine the brightest in the Friday Night Racing - Bettor

Swords Star to shine the brightest in the Friday Night Racing Christmas Party Packages Open 525 ?

The Grade OR Friday Night Racing Christmas Party Packages Open 525 has lucrative total prize money of ?500 and six talented hounds have lined up for claiming their share in it. The 525 yards flat race will be staged at Shelbourne Park on Wednesday, 14th November. The undisputed favourite for the open challenge is the two-year-old black hound, Swords Star.

The line-up for the contest is a mix of those who have taken their level up to the most refined stage of greyhound racing to those who will emerge from the Grade A races.

Another entry who has raced at the open level before too is the three-year-old black hound, Scary Carey. His tries did not bear him the fruit and the outcome that the connections had predicted.

The Gilbert trained, Swords Star, has been racing ever since the previous season, and has become highly proficient at the level which his competitors are racing their debuts in.

Ever since 15th August, the only stage at which the Swords Prince?s son has raced is the open.

The two-year-old took charge of the Grade OR ladbrokes.com Game On! Open 525 on 15th August, 2012 at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards.

The third trap was quick to race away quickly from the rest of the lot and set into the leading role making it to the other end of the wire in 28.78 seconds.

The favourite entry defeated Alberta Bound by three lengths.

The last two outings of the dark hound have culminated into a second and then a first position.

Swords Star qualified as the runner-up of the Grade OR Happy 21st Birthday Ciaran McSharry 525 on 3rd November, 2012 at Shelbourne Park. He tried making the most out of every chance, but failed to match the pace of the winner, Tinas Nova, who was through in 28.73 seconds.

Swords Star suffered defeat by two lengths.

On 10th November, he took charge of the Christmas Platter Package Open 525 at Shelbourne Park. The third trap set into an early pace and was quick to lead in for the wire, making to it in 28.67 seconds.

He will leave from the first trap for the race tonight.
